July 27, 2010 Beaver Run Resort Breckenridge, Colorado The Higher Education Association of the Rockies (HEAR), with its tradition of convening challenging and informational gatherings of public and private higher education stakeholders, will host a special workshop focused on P-20 issues in Colorado as a pre-convention workshop in association with the annual convention of the Colorado Association of School Executives (CASE). Come for a lively discussion on issues ranging from how to focus and align K-20, educator preparation, and standards and assessments as they relate to the Colorado achievement plan for kids (CAP4K). Preliminary Program Agenda 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. - Sessions for higher education participants will include postsecondary & workforce readiness, CAP4K, Legislative update and luncheon roundtable dialogues 12:45 – 2:15 p.m. - Joint session with CASE members on P-20 alignment and postsecondary & workforce readiness Cost of the one-day preconference HEAR programs is $195 for HEAR members and nonmembers & includes continental breakfast and lunch. (Cost to attend just the afternoon conversation on P-20 alignment is $35.) Those paying for the full day can attend the rural educators conversation 2:30-4:30 p.m. and the pre-convention networking reception 4:30-6 p.m. at no extra charge.
